Biography
Yana Bondar is an artist from Augusta, GA. They graduated with their MFA in Ceramics at The Lamar Dodd School of Art: University of Georgia and BFA from Augusta University. Their work has been exhibited in multiple galleries throughout Georgie the southeast and has been selected to exhibit in ArtFields 2025 and 2021 in Lake City, SC. Residencies include the Elf School of the Arts 2025 Summer Residency in Printmaking and Penland School of Craft 2022 Winter Residency in Ceramics.
Currently they teach Introductory Ceramics, 2D and 3D foundations part-time at Augusta University Department of Art and Design.
Yana’s work draws from experiences as a neurodivergent, nonbinary, queer person with the residue of a catholic background. Yana draws from the faith’s construct of gender and performative archetypes affected their own relationship with gender identity and selfhood, and reappropriates themes of god and sainthood through self referential, constructed archetypes.
